"The body catches what the mind misses." - Gabor Maté,
author of 'When the Body Says No'
Physiologically speaking, the stomach is an amplifier of the brain. There are more nerve
fibres running up from the stomach to the brain, than there are running down from the brain to the stomach.
Information is taken in via the senses, interpreted in the brain's emotional centres which then travels down to
the stomach where the interpretation or feeling is amplified and sent back to the brain. Hence the term 'gut feeling.'
Listening to the self is not that easy in the face of so much external stimulus but when we do it shows what works,
and what doesn't, what feels good, what feels off, and is
something only each unique self can know. I used the colours of the
sea as this is quite a fluid process, sound travels better on the water,
and because the water is home for me.
